Hello and welcome to a tutorial dealing with Cisco Webex.
Webex is used by the University of Stuttgart for video conferences.
In this video tutorial, we will show you how to activate your Webex account in order to host video conferences on your own.
To do so, go to https://siam.uni-stuttgart.de/ and log in with your user ID (st-, ac-account) and your password.
Now click on the tab "Webex".
At this point, you will see your primary e-mail address. With this address you will also log in to Webex later.
Click on the box next to"Einwilligung in die Übermittlung Ihrer Daten an Cisco Webex".
Now, click on "Speichern".
Afterwards, call up the page unistuttgart.webex.com
As the next step, click on the blue button "Login" in the upper right corner.
On the next page, type in the previously mentioned primary e-mail address.
The next window is the login dialog of the University of Stuttgart. Enter your user ID (st- or ac-account) and your password and click on "Anmelden".
Click on "Accept" in the next window.
This completes the registration process and takes you to your personal Webex page.

This video is about Webex.
You get to Webex by entering unistuttgart.webex.com in your browser. There, click on "Anmelden" in the upper right corner.
Then, enter your e-mail address (consisting of st and the number assigned to you @stud.uni-stuttgart.de). Confirm this by clicking on "Weiter".
The next window is the registration window of the University of Stuttgart.
There, you have to enter your short user ID (consisting of st and the number assigned to you) as well as your password. After that, click on "Anmelden".
Then, the registration process is finished and you are on your personal Webex page.
What is Webex used for?
Webex is a software for video conferencing.
Many events, like lectures and seminars, are streamed via Webex. Group exercises and office hours are often held . You can also host sessions with other students in your own rooms. This is especially useful for group work.
In order to do so, you need to activate your st address for the use of Webex. We show you how this can be done in the video "Webex freischalten in SIAM".
Your lecturers will probably send you Webex links from time to time. In order to join meetings, we recommend to download the Webex Meetings App. Linux users can join the meetings via their browsers.
