Argument Mining
Argument mining is a highly interdisciplinary field in Natural Language Processing. Given a linguistic unit (a speech, an essay, forum post, or a tweet), its goal is to determine what is the position adopted by the author/speaker on a certain topic/issue (i.e., whether or not the vaccinations should be enforced), and to identify the evidence (if any) provided by the speaker for its position. In this seminar we will read and discuss recent papers in Argument Mining, based on a selection structured along three main coordinates: the core notion of Argument Quality (How do we recognize good arguments?); the modeling challenges related to the automatic extraction of argument structures (multilingualism; evaluation of different modeling architectures); applications (computational social science; education). Beruf: "Ach, Sie sind Lehrkraft?" - Berufsrolle und Berufsethik (Standardgruppe)
Lehrkräfte nehmen meist eine bedeutsame Rolle in der Biografie der Schülerinnen und Schüler ein. Sie können Unterstützung, Förderung und Modell auf dem jungen Lebens- und Bildungsweg zur Autonomie sein, können im schlimmsten Fall aber auch Provokateur, Hindernis oder geradezu personifizierte Heteronomie sein. Diese weitreichende Macht einer Lehrkraft muss daher wohl bewusst und wohl bedacht sein, um sich so verantwortungsvoll in die Profession „Lehrkraft“ zu begeben. Ziel unseres Seminars ist daher die ethische Reflexion o.g. Phänomene sowie das Kennen und Identifizieren grundlegender Aspekte schulischer Kommunikation und Interaktion sowie deren problematische Formen. Zudem recherchieren wir unsere Wahrnehmung als Pädagogin und Pädagoge in der Gesellschaft, reflektieren unsere Normen und Grenzen, Erwartungen und Hoffnungen, Anforderungen und Belastungen und können so am Ende des Seminars fundiert vor uns und anderen darlegen, was es heißt „Lehrkraft“ zu sein. Leistungsnachweis: Referat und Essay. Achtung: Das Seminar betont Individualisiertes und Differenziertes Lernen qua offenen Unterrichtsformen. Konkret heißt das, dass wir in den ersten Sitzungen individuell von mir bereitgestellte diverse Materialien sichten, Sie diese ergänzen und auf all dem beruhend Referate vorbereiten, die wir dann ab ca. Juni im Seminar hören. Hälfte 1 ist somit Prozess hin zu Ihrer persönlichen Beantwortung der Frage, was es für Sie heißt "Lehrkraft" zu sein. Hälfte 2 stellt das Produkt dar und wird benotungsrelevant sein (neben dem Essay im Nachhinein). Auch die Bewertungskriterien selbiger möchte ich mit Ihnen transparent aufstellen.

Einführung in die Praktische Philosophie
Praktische Philosophie ist die methodisch angeleitete Reflexion über das, was gut und richtig im Handeln und Leben ist. Darüber nachzudenken und begründen zu können, was gut und richtig im Handeln und Leben ist, kann auch helfen, sich im realen Leben besser zu orientieren. Von daher geht es in der praktischen Philosophie seit der Antike nicht nur um ein theoretisches Wissen um das Gute, sondern um eine Verbesserung des individuellen und sozialen Lebens. Die ersten Sitzungen werden wir uns mit sogenannten metaethischen Fragestellungen beschäftigen wie etwa: „Was heißt es, sich im Leben und Handeln an Werten oder Normen zu orientieren?“, „Was heißt überhaupt ‚sollen’?“, „Welche Arten von Normen lassen sich unterscheiden?“, „Sind alle Normen kulturrelativ?“, „Ist die Frage: „Warum moralisch sein?“ eine sinnvolle Frage (und wenn ja, unter welchen Bedingungen)?“ etc., dies wird uns das Feld der Praktischen Philosophie erschließen. Danach werden wir uns systematisch auf die normativen Ansätze der Ethik konzentrieren, auch die Teilbereiche der Politischen Philosophie, der Rechts- und der Sozialphilosophie werden wir dabei streifen. Die klassischen Positionen der eudämonistischen Tugendethik (Aristoteles, Epikur, Stoa), die deontologischen Ansätze in der Moralphilosophie (Kontraktualismus etc.) wie etwa der neuzeitlichen Kontraktualismus (Hobbes; Locke, Rousseau) einerseits, diejenige Kants und seinen Nachfolgern andererseits sowie konsequentialistische, insbes. utilitaristische Positionen werden systematisch erschlossen. In den begleitenden (obligatorischen) Tutorien werden Sie offen gebliebene Fragen weiter diskutieren können; Sie werden dort auch Unterstützung bei der Erarbeitung der Texte und Folien finden, die auf ILIAS bereitgestellt werden.Registration: No Registration Possible

ProfAnII: Bildungsaufstieg: Wie können Schüler*innen aus nicht-akademischen Familien in ihrer Bildungslaufbahn unterstützt werden?
Schon dass Schüler*innen aus nicht-akademischen Familien ein Gymnasium besuchen, ist keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Auch, dass diese Kinder im Laufe ihrer Bildungslaufbahn mehr investieren müssen als Kinder aus akademischen Familien ist empirisch hinreichend belegt. Häufig wird dafür ein Zusammenhang mit unserem Bildungssystem gesehen. Setzt man nun voraus, dass es möglichst vielen Schüler*innen gelingen soll, den für sie höchstmöglichen Bildungsabschluss zu erwerben, stellt sich die Frage, was (einzelne) Lehrpersonen tun können, um ihre Schüler*innen dabei zu unterstützen. Im Seminar beginnen wir mit einer Betrachtung der Ausgangslage, mit der Lehrkräfte konfrontiert werden, und sehen uns dazu aktuelle Zahlen an. Daraufhin werden zentrale Grundbegriffe, wie z. B. der des Habitus, eingeführt, die das Phänomen der Reproduktion sozialer (Un-)Gleichheit erklären. In der zweiten Sitzung gehen wir auf sowohl auf strukturelle als auch individuelle Ursachen ein, welche die oben genannte Reproduktion beeinflussen. In einem Exkurs zum Thema Chancengleichheit soll in diesem Zusammenhang auch der Frage nachgegangen werden, inwiefern diese überhaupt hergestellt werden kann und soll. Unter der Annahme, dass die Sensibilisierung für die eigene Situation und den eigenen Habitus ausschlaggebend dafür ist, wie (künftige) Schüler*innen wahrgenommen und beurteilt werden, wird das Seminar flankiert von einer Reihe an Diskussionen und Übungen zur Selbstreflexion. In einer dritten Seminarsitzung werden abschließend Beispiele für Maßnahmen vorgestellt und besprochen, in denen der Versuch unternommen wurde, soziale Ungleichheiten in der Schule zu reduzieren. Auf der Grundlage der zuvor besprochenen Inhalte sollen diese Ansätze beurteilt werden.Registration: No Registration Possible
